Background.

Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000) was the driving force behind 35 air terminals in Argentina, becoming the world’s largest private operator. With over 2,100 passionate professionals, AA2000 not only managed airports; it created experiences, connected communities, and set new standards in the airport industry.

Challenges.

AA2000 faced the need to reinvent the traveler experience. The challenge: to modernize, transform, and expand its infrastructure and services to create an efficient and sustainable network of air terminals. The ultimate goal? To elevate customer service quality and optimize internal operations.

Business Goals.

Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 sought a comprehensive solution to enhance its digital operations. Their main objective was to update and improve the ROD (Daily Operational Report) and TAMS (Total Airport Management Systems) platforms to effectively respond to new IT department demands.

The company required the development of an Android application and a web version of these platforms to facilitate access and use by their team anytime, anywhere. Additionally, they aimed to significantly reduce ticket resolution times and decrease the frequency of ticket generation.

A crucial objective was to achieve more efficient management of various resources across all airports under their management. This involved improving the ability to plan, allocate, and monitor resources, from personnel to equipment and physical spaces.

In summary, Aeropuertos Argentina sought a digital transformation that would not only optimize their internal processes but also elevate the quality of service offered to passengers and airlines, thus consolidating their position as a leader in airport management.

Solution.

To address Aeropuertos Argentina’s challenges, we formed a specialized development team that focused on two key areas:

Upgrade of the ROD (Daily Operational Report) system: We performed a comprehensive update of the ROD system, significantly improving its capacity to process daily airport operations. We focused on optimizing report generation, implementing new functionalities that allowed for more efficient data collection and analysis. This improvement facilitated the acquisition of crucial information for operational decision-making, providing managers with a clearer and up-to-date view of daily airport activities.

Evolution of the TAMS (Total Airport Management System): For TAMS, we carried out an integral upgrade at the operational level. Our approach focused on improving support and maintenance of the existing version, resulting in significantly improved operability for the end user. Considering that TAMS is fundamental for total airport management, we optimized its capabilities to manage resources more efficiently, plan flight seasonality, and coordinate daily operations with greater precision.

In addition to these improvements to existing systems, we developed two new applications to facilitate access and use of these platforms:

1. A native application for Android devices, allowing staff to access crucial information and perform important tasks from anywhere in the airport.

2. A robust and responsive web application, ensuring that Aeropuertos Argentina employees could use the systems from any device with internet access.

Throughout the development process, we maintained close collaboration with the Aeropuertos Argentina team, ensuring that each improvement and new functionality perfectly aligned with their operational needs and strategic objectives.

This comprehensive solution not only addressed Aeropuertos Argentina’s immediate challenges but also laid the foundation for greater operational efficiency and better resource management across their entire airport network.

Results.

The project achieved an overall optimization of the ROD and TAMS platforms, significantly improving their operability. A notable reduction in ticket generation was achieved, and problem resolution was expedited. As a final result, the new versions TAMS 2.0 and ROD 2.0 were successfully developed and launched, marking a milestone in the efficiency of airport management.
